Accompanied Ashes Delivery from Forest Park Crematorium to Clifton Ingram Solicitors, Reading
25th May 2026A personal account of an accompanied ashes delivery from Forest Park Cemetery & Crematorium in Hainault, Essex, to Clifton Ingram Solicitors in Reading, ahead of a scattering ceremony at a local church, carried out in partnership with the Westerleigh Group.
At Ashes Escorted, it is a privilege to work alongside some of the most respected names in the funeral sector. This delivery brought us into partnership once again with the Westerleigh Group, the UK's largest independent owner and operator of crematoria and cemeteries, caring for more than 76,000 families every year across 40+ sites in England, Scotland and Wales.
Working with the Westerleigh Group and Forest Park Crematorium
Forest Park Cemetery & Crematorium in Hainault, Essex, is part of the Westerleigh Group and is operated in partnership with the London Borough of Redbridge. Set in beautifully landscaped grounds, it was the first new crematorium to be built in London for over 40 years and serves families across East London and the surrounding areas.
We were trusted by the team at Forest Park to collect the cremated remains and ensure they were hand carried safely and respectfully to their next destination, a responsibility we take enormously seriously and are grateful to have been entrusted with.
The Journey
The cremated remains were personally collected by us from Forest Park Cemetery & Crematorium, Forest Road, Hainault, Essex, with all release documentation carefully checked and signed at the point of collection. From that moment, the ashes were hand carried for the entirety of the journey, never left unattended, never passed to a third party.
We travelled with them directly to Clifton Ingram Solicitors in Reading, who were handling the arrangements on behalf of the family. The ashes were delivered personally and securely, ready for the scattering ceremony that was to follow at a local church in Reading.
A Scattering Ceremony at a Reading Church
Scattering a loved one's ashes at a place of personal or spiritual significance is one of the most meaningful farewells a family can arrange. For this family, a church in Reading held that significance, and we were honoured to play our part in ensuring the ashes arrived safely and in time for that ceremony to take place.
Whatever the final destination, a churchyard, a garden of remembrance, a stretch of coastline, or a place that simply meant everything to the person who has passed, our role is always the same: to ensure the journey there is made with complete care, dignity and accountability.
When a solicitor is involved
It is not uncommon for solicitors to be involved in the arrangements surrounding a loved one's ashes, particularly in estate matters or where the deceased's wishes have been formally recorded. When that is the case, ensuring the ashes are delivered securely, with a clear and documented chain of custody, is especially important.
Our accompanied delivery service provides exactly that, a fully accountable, hand carried service with documentation checked at every stage and personal delivery confirmed on arrival.
Grief does not end with the Funeral
We understand that for many families, the period between cremation and a final ceremony can be one of the most quietly difficult times of all. The practical arrangements can feel overwhelming, and the emotional weight of that final farewell can be immense.
At Ashes Escorted, we are always here to help, whether that means arranging a delivery, answering questions about what happens next, or simply taking the time to listen.
